(Over the years we have grown in our understanding of prayer, and spiritual warfare, and of our need to be restored in the life of God each day. And so we have developed this prayer, which we call The Daily Prayer. It is entirely based on Scripture, almost like praying the Scriptures. For the details on that, see chapter ten in Waking the Dead. The prayer has sort of morphed through several generations, as we’ve learned something new about the work of Christ for us, or the ploys of the enemy. And so we offer you this, the latest version. May it be a source of life to you. Daily.)
My dear Lord Jesus, I come to you now to be restored in you, to be renewed in you; to receive your life and your love and all of the grace and mercy I so desperately need from you this day. I honor you as my sovereign and I surrender every aspect and every dimension of my spirit and soul and body to you now; my heart, my mind my will. I cover myself with the blood of Christ – spirit, soul, body, heart and I ask your Holy Spirit to restore me in you today – to renew me in you and to lead this time of prayer. In all that I now pray (include wife and children by name) acting as their head I draw them under your authority and under your covering. I cover them with your blood Jesus, their spirit, soul and body; their heart, mind and will. I ask your Holy Spirit to apply to them all that I now pray on their behalf acting as their head. In all that I now pray, I stand in agreement with your Spirit, Jesus – with my allies and intercessors – by your Spirit alone.
Dear God, holy and victorious Trinity, you alone are worthy of all my worship, my heart’s devotion, all my praise, all my trust and all the glory of my life. I love you, I worship you, I trust you and I give myself over to you God in my heart’s search for life. You alone are life and you have become my life. I renounce all other gods, I renounce all idols and I give to you, God, the place in my heart and in my life that you truly deserve. This is all about you and not about me. You are the hero of this story and I belong to you. I ask your forgiveness for my every sin. I ask you to search me and know me and reveal to me where you are working, what you are asking and that you would grant to me the grace of your healing and deliverance and a deep and true repentance.
Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me and choosing me before you made the world. You are my true Father—my Creator, my Redeemer, my Sustainer, and the true end of all things, including my life. I love you; I trust you and I worship you. I give myself over to you, Father, to be one with you in all things as Jesus is one with you. Thank you for proving your love for me by sending Jesus to be my deliverer and my life. I receive him and all his life and all his work that you provided for me. Thank you for including me in Christ, for forgiving me my sins, for granting to me his integrity and righteousness, for making me complete in him. Thank you for making me alive with Christ, raising me with him, seating me with him at your right hand, establishing me in his authority, and anointing me with your love and your spirit and your favor. I receive it all with thanks and give it total claim to my life—my spirit, soul, and body, my heart, mind and will. I bring the life and the work of Jesus over (wife and children by name) and over my home, my life, household, my vehicles, work, finances and throughout my domain and I stake it there in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus, thank you for coming to ransom me with your own life. I honor you as my sovereign; I love you, worship you, trust you and I give myself over to you now – spirit, soul and body; to be one with you in all things. Jesus I sincerely receive you as my deliverer from sin, death, judgment, and from the kingdom of darkness and its every claim. I receive all the work and triumph of your cross, death, blood and sacrifice for me, whereby my every sin is atoned for, I am ransomed and transferred to your kingdom, my sin nature is removed, my heart is circumcised unto God, and every claim being made against me is canceled, broken and dis¬armed by your cross and your blood, death and sacrifice this day throughout my kingdom and my domain. With (my wife and children by name) I now take my place in your cross in which I have died with you to sin, to my flesh, to the world, and to the evil one and his kingdom. I take up the cross and crucify my flesh (specifically name the things you need to crucify today). I crucify all pride and arrogance, idolatry, adultery, unbelief - I put off the old man. I ask you Father to apply to me (my wife and children by name) all of the work and all of the triumph, the fullness of the cross, death, blood and sacrifice of Jesus Christ for me. I receive it with thanks and give it total claim to my spirit, soul and body, my heart, mind and will.
Jesus, I also sincerely receive you as my life, my holiness, my strength and sanctification; I receive all the work and triumph of your resurrection, whereby you have conquered sin, death and judgment – death has no mastery over you, nor any foul thing. And I have been raised with you to a new life, to live your life - dead to sin and alive to God. With (wife and children by name) I now take my place in your resurrection and in your life, whereby you have become my life; you are my life, and I am saved by your life. I reign in life through your life. I put on the new man – your life, humility, love and forgiveness, your integrity and purity and truth, your wisdom and discernment and cunning, your strength, courage, valor, joy, creativity and your union with the Father. I receive your life today, Jesus, and I make no provision for any other anywhere in me. Father I ask you to apply to me all of the work and all of the triumph in the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and in His life this day. I receive it with thanks and give it total claim to my spirit, soul and body, my heart, mind and will.
Jesus, I also sincerely receive you as my authority, rule, and dominion, my ever¬lasting triumph against Satan and his kingdom, and my ability to bring your Kingdom at all times and in every way. I receive all the work and triumph in your authority, your ascension and your throne whereby you have judged Satan and cast him down. You have disarmed his kingdom; all authority in Heaven and on Earth is given to you every ruler, power, authority and spiritual force of wickedness. All authority in Heaven and on Earth has been given to you Jesus, all authority in Heaven and on this Earth is yours, and you are worthy to receive all glory and honor, power and dominion, now and forevermore. I have been given fullness in you, in your authority. With (wife and children by name) I take my place now in your ascension, and in your throne, whereby I have been raised with you to the right hand of the Father and established in your authority. I now bring your authority, rule, dominion and your kingdom over (wife and children by name), my life today, my home, household, land, vehicles, finances, my office, over all my kingdom and domain. I now bring the fullness of the work of the Lord Jesus Christ, the power of his cross, the resurrection and ascension against Satan and against his kingdom; against every foul and unclean spirit raised against me this day - against every foul power and every black art, against all forms of spiritual warfare coming against me this day. I disarm them through the full work and triumph of the Lord Jesus Christ and in Jesus’ name. (At this point I spend a good bit of time naming all foul and unclean spirits that I know have been attacking me both historically or situationally, and that are likely to attack me such as fear, doubt, accident, injury, death, the Religious spirit, pride, arrogance – the list is long) I send all foul and unclean spirits and all foul powers and black arts, all things raised against me this day banished from my life, home, family, household, kingdom and domain in the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth who came in the flesh and in Jesus’ name. I ask you Father to apply to me all of the work and all of the triumph in the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ and in his ascension shared with me. I receive it with thanks – I give it total claim to my spirit, soul and body, to my heart, mind and will.
Holy Spirit, thank you for coming. I love you, I worship you, and I trust you. I sincerely receive you and I receive all the work and victory in Pentecost, whereby you have come, you have clothed me with power from on high, sealed me in Christ; you have become my union with the Father and the Son, become the Spirit of truth in me, the life of God in me, my Counselor, Comforter, Strength, and Guide. I honor you as my sovereign, and together with (wife and children by name) I fully open every aspect and dimension of my spirit, soul and body, heart, mind and will to you and you alone together with the Father and the Son, to be filled with you, to walk in step with you in all things. Fill me afresh. Restore my union with the Father and the Son. Lead me into all truth, anoint me for all of my life and walk and calling, and lead me deeper into Jesus today. I receive you with thanks, and I give you total claim to my life.
Heavenly Father, thank you for granting to me every spiritual blessing in the Heavenlies in Christ Jesus. I claim the riches in Christ Jesus over my home, over (wife and children by name), over my vehicles and finances, my work, office, throughout my kingdom and my domain. I bring the blood of the Lord Christ over my spirit, soul, and body, my heart, mind and will. I ask you to armor me with your armor. I gird myself with the belt of truth; I put on your breastplate of righteousness, shoes of your gospel and the helmet of your salvation. I take up your shield of faith and your sword of the Spirit, and I choose to be strong in the Lord and in the strength of your might and to pray at all times in the spirit.
I summon your angels and I ask them to guard, to protect and to establish your kingdom throughout my kingdom and throughout my domain this day and to destroy all that is raised against me; to be my companions throughout the day. Jesus I ask you to send your spirit forth in your kingdom and to wake, rouse, quicken and unite my intercessors and my allies this day which you would raise up the full company and canopy of prayer and intercession for me. I call forth the kingdom of God and the glory, rule and dominion of the Lord Jesus Christ over my life, home, kingdom and throughout my domain this day - all of this in the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ and in Jesus’ name; with all thanks, worship and praise to you Jesus. Amen

St. Patrick's Breastplate
I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through belief in the threeness,
Through confession of the oneness
Of the Creator of creation.
I arise today
Through the strength of Christ’s birth with his baptism,
Through the strength of his crucifixion with his burial,
Through the strength of his resurrection with his ascension,
Through the strength of his descent for the judgment of Doom.
I arise today
Through the strength of the love of Cherubim,
In obedience of angels,
In the service of archangels,
In hope of resurrection to meet with reward,
In prayers of patriarchs,
In predictions of prophets,
In preaching of apostles,
In faith of confessors,
In innocence of holy virgins,
In deeds of righteous men.
I arise today
Through the strength of heaven:
Light of sun,
Radiance of moon,
Splendor of fire,
Speed of lightning,
Swiftness of wind,
Depth of sea,
Stability of earth,
Firmness of rock.
I arise today
Through God’s strength to pilot me:
God’s might to uphold me,
God’s wisdom to guide me,
God’s eye to look before me,
God’s ear to hear me,
God’s word to speak for me,
God’s hand to guard me,
God’s way to lie before me,
God’s shield to protect me,
God’s host to save me
From snares of devils,
From temptations of vices,
From everyone who shall wish me ill,
Afar and anear,
Alone and in multitude.
I summon today all these powers between me and those evils,
Against every cruel merciless power that may oppose my body and soul,
Against incantations of false prophets,
Against black laws of pagandom,
Against false laws of heretics,
Against craft of idolatry,
Against spells of witches and smiths and wizards,
Against every knowledge that corrupts man’s body and soul.
Christ to shield me today
Against poison, against burning,
Against drowning, against wounding,
So that there may come to me abundance of reward.
Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through belief in the threeness,
Through confession of the oneness,
Of the Creator of Creation.
A Prayer for Life
O God, you are my life. You have breathed into me the breath of life, and I have become a living being (Gen 2:7). My very existence and my being flow from You. In You I live and move and have my being (Acts 17:28). You are the Vine, and I am a true branch of Yours (John 15:5). Father, you have made me alive with Christ (Eph 2:4-5). Jesus has become my second Adam, a life-giving spirit (1 Cor 15:45). He came that I might have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). I have Jesus Christ, and I have his life (1 John 5:12). Christ is now my life (Col 3:4).
Dear Father, restore this frail branch in full union with the trunk. Restore my full union with Christ and with You. I return myself to You – my body, soul, and spirit. I return myself fully to the Source of Life. May I be one with You even as Jesus was one with You (John 10:30, 17:21). Let Your life flow through me and flow and flow throughout this day. O Life, live into me. Encompass me and all that I am; well up within me. O Spring of Life, let Your river flow through my heart, soul, mind, and strength (John 7:38). You are the God who gives life to the dead(Rom 4:17). And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in me (and You are living in me), he who raised Jesus from the dead will also give life to my mortal body through his Spirit, who lives in me (Rom 8:11). O God, fill me with the resurrection power of Jesus Christ in my body, soul, and spirit.
For it is Christ in me that is my hope of glory (Col 1:27). It is the triumphant life of Jesus Christ that has become my life. I live by Him. I reign in life through Him, by the life of Christ in me. For if, when I was Your enemy, I was reconciled to You through the death of Your Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall I be saved through His life (Rom 5:10). I announce that the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death (Rom 8:2).
I now claim the resurrection triumph of Jesus Christ against all forms of death and destruction come against me. By Jesus Christ and his great work I cut off every attempt of my enemies to steal, kill, or destroy my life. As Jesus said, no one takes my life from me (John 10:18). Death has no mastery over Jesus now (Rom 6:9), and death has no mastery over me, for I am united with Christ, one Spirit with him (1 Cor 6:17). I am in Christ (1 Cor 1:30). And Christ is in me (Col 1:27). I claim the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus now, against every black law of sin and death and every foul power of destruction aimed against me. By the authority of Jesus Christ I bind and banish all forms of bondage and death from me, now – all spirits, all witchcraft, all foul powers. I cancel all claims against me by the work of Jesus Christ (Col 2:13-15).
I take my place in the resurrection of Jesus Christ and in his life. I claim the resurrection of Christ against my enemies and their devices, and I bind them from me and send them to their judgment, in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ and to his everlasting glory. I choose to live by the strength of Jesus Christ, and by his mighty life. In Jesus’ Name.
Bedtime Prayer from Walking With God
My dear Lord Jesus, I come to you now to be restored in you, to be renewed in you, to receive your love and life, to take refuge in you. I honor you as my Sovereign, and I surrender every aspect of my life totally and completely to you. I give you my body, soul and spirit; my heart, mind, and will. I cover myself with your blood, and I ask your Holy Spirit to restore my union with you, renew me in you, and lead me in this time of prayer. [Sometimes I add “my imagination” or “my sexuality” if I sense consecration is needed there. And because we have children, we consecrate our sons as well.]
I bring the kingdom of God and the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ over my home, my bedroom, my sleeping—all through the hours of this night and the new day. I bring the full work of the Lord Jesus Christ throughout my home tonight—the atmosphere in every room, over every object and furnishing, all media, throughout the ceilings, walls, and floors and all places in them, from the land beneath to the roof above and to the borders of my domain.
And in the authority of Jesus Christ I bring the full work of Jesus between me and all people now—their spirits, souls, and bodies, their sin and warfare. [I name those people now.] I command the judgment of the Lord Jesus Christ on every foul power and black art. I bring the cross and the blood of Christ, I bring his resurrection and life, his authority and rule and dominion against every hex, vex, and incantation. Against every spell, all rituals, and all ritual devices, all satanic rituals and satanic ritual devices.Against every vow, dedication, and sacrifice. Against every word, every judgment, and every curse. I send it all to the abyss in the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ and in his name.
I now bring the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ and the fullness of his work against Satan and his kingdom. I bring the cross, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ against every foul and unclean spirit—every ruler, power, authority, and spiritual force of wickedness [Ephesians 6:12]. I command all foul and unclean spirits bound from my home and from my household [remember,“bind the strong man”], together with all their underlings, backups, and replacements, in the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ and in his name.
I announce the kingdom of God over my home and my house this night. I summon the angels of the Lord Jesus Christ and ask them to build a shield of protection around me and my home [Hebrews 1:14]. I ask your Spirit to fill my home with your presence and to go forth and raise up prayer and intercession for me this night. All this I pray in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ, to his glory. Amen.
